I recently had a call with a parent who decided to tell me that my job is so much easier than theirs because "I just teach dance." When I heard this my heart sank. Many people don't realize how much goes into teaching dance classes and running a successful dance studio so they take it for granted. What parents see in the studio and on the stage is the tip of a very large iceberg that makes those moments happen. So please be nice, not only to your child's dance teachers, but to their teachers at school as well. We all love your children, we all would give them the shirt off our back, and we all want them to have the best education they can get. We can't however provide what children need nearly as well if we are belittled or made to feel inferior. So please be respectful to those who only want the best for your child and who work very hard to provide just that.
