ADULT DANCE CLASS FAQ'S

Below are answers to all our most Frequently Asked Questions!

What to wear? Where to purchase shoes? We've got you covered!

Read on for the answers, and if you have a question not answered on this page please email us at LeCroixAcademy@gmail.com

FAQ's:

What to wear to class:
  • Leotards and tights are welcome, but not required. We want you to be comfortable so often our adult students prefer to wear leggings and an athletic top or similar clothing that is stretchy and form-fitted so the teacher can see body alignment.
  • We do ask that you adhere to our academy-wide policy of no exposed midriffs or short-shorts as we like to keep our atmosphere family-friendly at all times. Thank you!

Where to get your dance shoes:
  • Ballet and Tap shoes can be purchased at any dancewear store - our recommendation is Lebo's on East Franklin Boulevard (in Gastonia) or Morris Costumes on Monroe Road (in Charlotte).
  • For Ballet we recommend canvas, split sole ballet shoes (pink for women and black for men).
  • For Tap we recommend lace up or slip on, full sole tap shoes in black (high heel and split sole versions not recommended for beginners).

What to bring with you to class:
  • We simply ask that you please bring a bottle of water and your dancing feet!
  • Personal items (purses, coats, etc) will be placed on the bench in the classroom, but we do require you to silence all electronic devices so they're not a distraction in class. Thank you!

What if you need to miss a class during the 5 week session?
  • Don't stress, we know life happens and we offer a couple different options for making up a missed class in a different class on our schedule; once you're registered just send us an email at LeCroixAcademy@gmail.com and we'll get you connected to the right make up class for you.
  • One make up class provided per session.

And that's it, simple and sweet :) See you in class!
