Emily Lacey - Studio Owner/Director, Ballet Mistress, and Head Instructor
With 27 years of experience, Emily Lacey specializes in teaching classical ballet technique and choreography. Emily grew up on the coast of Virginia, began dancing at the age of two, and her passion for dance has flourished into her adult years. Throughout her life, Emily has trained with many influential dance masters in the Arts Industry such as Gennadi Vostrikov (Vostrikov's Academy of Dance), Sandra Ballestracci (American Youth Ballet Company), Marilyn Cloutier (Triple Threat Performing Arts Academy), Deborah Diggs (Bayside Youth Ballet Company), Heidrun Robitshek (Virginia Regional Ballet), Daniel Baudendistel (Ballet Arizona), Marcus Bugler (Nevada Ballet Theatre), Melissa Coyle (University of North Carolina at Charlotte), and others. She has performed as a soloist in several classical ballets such as Paquita, Les Sylphides, and the Nutcracker, to name a few. She also began acting at a young age and began choreographing for her local musical theatre group during her teenage years.
In addition to being the Owner and Director of L.C.A., Emily is also the Founder and Director of Lacey Dance Company, an audition-based company for adults that she founded in 2014 which fuses classical ballet with other styles of dance to create intricate, unique pieces of moving art. Lacey Dance Company is now the resident professional performance company at L.C.A.! Emily also directs the North Carolina Youth Ballet Company for students under 18 years of age who want to gain pre-professional experience and performance opportunities.
Lauren Golden - Lyrical, Jazz, Modern and Tap Instructor
Lauren Golden, from Scranton PA, has 19 years of dance training, performance, and theatre experience. She began dancing at the age of three at The Ballet Theatre of Scranton in PA. Lauren attended many summer intensives with Allegheny Ballet Company, The American Academy of Ballet, and the Performing Institute for Arts in PA. She also continued her dance education with the Wyoming Seminary Dance Company and went on to study dance at The Pennsylvania State University. She has performed as a soloist in many ballets such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and The Phantom of the Opera. She is also a student at Sherman College of Chiropractic learning to help clear the human body from nerve interference to allow the body to function at its best! Lauren has been teaching since 2009 and loves to share her knowledge and passion of dance with her students.
Nancy Daniels - Yoga Instructor
RYT-200, Owner and Director of Morning Mountain Yoga, Nancy is a body positive yoga
instructor, firmly believing that any body is capable of becoming a strong body with the goal
of carrying us through to old age. She believes that yoga is a practice and form which meet
you where you are, and has no expectation of anyone being able to touch their toes or put
their feet behind their head. Nancy is a mutli-disciplined yogi, who participates in CrossFit,
as well as other athletic endeavors. She desires to bring improvements to athletic
performance through yoga. She is playful, intuitive and grounded, providing a nurturing
environment for safe expression of your true self.
Nancy is a certified in Ashtanga Yoga (the eight limbed path) in the lineage of Iyengar. Her
studies included intensives in form under the Master teacher Karin Stephan, who studied
under BKS Iyengar himself. Additional intensives included Pranayam and Ayurveda under
Larissa Hall Carlson (former Dean of the Kripalu school of Ayurveda) and further studies in
philosophy, mythology and history under Roger McKeever. Additional interests include
Yoga Nidra and Meditation.
Through the combination of body movements and breath, Nancy hopes to bring you to a
stilling of the thought waves of the mind – allowing for peace.
